One Captain, Two Teams

As some of you may know I am the Captain of two Teams on Etsy and I help lead a few more.

I prefer to think of myself more as head cheerleader than Captain. The Teams I am leading cheers for are
Createability Team Etsy and Texas Friends Team Etsy. Recently, I started thinking about how to promote not only participation on both teams, but promote the members of the teams. So this is what I did on each of the Facebook Fan Pages for the teams I'm head cheerleader for.
Team Member of the Day! Each day I check the member list and I post one on Facebook. I've even created an image the Member of the day can use to promote the team and to say check it out, I was Team Member of the Day on such and such a day... how cool is that.
Here is a list for each team that has the Team Members of the Day so far
Createability Team Member(s) of the Day
Texas Friends Team Member(s) of the Day

I hope you will click on these links and like the team pages and give some shout outs to my teams.

I'm sorry I haven't done similar things for the other teams that I help lead, because I'm on some really good teams. As Captain of these teams, they are my priority right now.

Coasters

I'm working on a new set of coasters. Not sure if I will list them or not. The battery in my camera started behaving badly, so it is being replaced. I've got a couple coasters finished, I'm planning a set of 4. They are made of the same felt I made the last two dolls out of. I'll have to get photos with the scanner until the new camera battery arrives. That is on the to do list for tomorrow.

Fly Away With Me... A Collection of Vintage Pilot Pins

Why is my head in the clouds on this fine day? I'll tell you, it is a perfect day for flying. If you like flying or air-crafts, airplanes in particular; then this is the collection of vintage pins for you!

Rolling out of the hangar we have:
3 vintage FAA Safety pins, one with the State of Louisiana emblem on it.

1 99's pin

The Ninety-Nines is the international organization
of women pilots that promotes advancement
of aviation through education, scholarships and
mutual support while honoring our unique history
and sharing our passion for flight.
and several other pins with airplanes and flying groups depicted
14 pins in all. Including the two shown previously.

lapel pins, stick pins, one pendant (14 in all)

All of these pins date back from the 60's, 70's and 80's some may be early 90's.

I found these in 2 jewelry boxes belonging to my Aunt who was a pilot. She spent most of her life as a professional pilot having learned to fly as a teenager. She began flying professionally while still in high school, was a member of The 99's, a women's pilot organization, and as a flight instructor taught countless people the art of flying.

Hidden Treasures, Vintage Finds Part 2

https://www.etsy.com/listing/100155976/vintage-louisiana-state-seal-sold-brass

This solid brass coaster with cork backing manufactured by BTS Solid Brass Specialties in the 20th century is a piece of Louisiana History. It belonged to my Aunt who was a pilot for the great State of Louisiana throughout the 70's and 80's and served under Gov. Edwin Edwards during his 1984 term in office.

weight 7 ounces
diameter 3 7/8" (inches)

This beautiful coaster comes in a blue velvet bag that it has stayed in for decades.

Hidden Treasures... Vintage Finds

Some time ago I came into possession of 2 boxes full of interesting vintage finds. They once belonged to my aunt, who is with the angels now flying planes and riding motorcycles and making dollhouses and cat scratch-er condos.
Backside of vintage clip on earrings found in one of the jewelry boxes.

Clip on earrings. The look of a gold necklace wound up. Very cool.
I've already listed one great find. A pair of clip on earrings shown above. Another very nice item I found is the size of a drink coaster. It is made of brass and has a cork backing with the name of the company who made it. The front has the State Seal of Louisiana. It is in very good condition and is stored in the blue velvet drawstring bag I found it in.

needs a good polishing, but it is in good shape.

Great find for people who collect such things.

back view

I think my favorite thing I found today has to be the small shoe horn with a miniature shoe attached to it with a chain. I've never seen anything like this.

Little too much flash reflection in this photo

Pretty and unique!

I'm still finding things and as I find more I'll share. Last but not least the box I've been digging in today
Vintage wooden jewelry box and lid. As you can probably see, there is a lot of cool stuff to run my fingers through in there.

A Princess in the Making...Part 6

Welcome to Part 6 of "A Princess in the Making"
Princess Sixlet takes the throne.

She is dressed and like her big sister, Queen Tuplet Coco, She did not want to wear shoes or anything on her feet. So without further adieu, Here she is...
Her Royal Majesty, Princess Sixlet Coco.
Hat, skirt, belt and undies are felt. Her top is an up-cycled scarf.
Hat is sewn to her head, skirt and undies are sewn to the body. Top is  custom made to fit only her and tied at the shoulders. The belt is square knotted at the back.

She looks pleased.

A Princess in the Making... Part 5

Princess Sixlet Coco would like everyone to know that she's in her dressing room.
Red is this Princess's favorite color! Designed for her. She's wearing BethiefliesToo.

Red felt skirt in 2 layers, inspired by handkerchiefs and ballerinas.

Princess Sixlet Coco is also somewhat modest and has chosen bloomers custom made in red felt to match the skirt. A girl needs a twirl.

The kerchief on her head is also made of red felt.

A few more details to attend to such as a blouse or tank top and accessories and footwear.

Available soon from BethiefliesToo.

A Princess in the Making... Part 3

Princess Sixlet Coco is coming along nicely. Her body parts are all stuffed and her legs are now joined to her body. Working on joining the arms now. Being a Princess and used to her own way, she wanted this next photo shoot done in the chair I sit in to do all of the by hand work on everything I make. Enjoy. I also reverted the pictures from the first photo shoot to their untouched version.
